Handcrafted in wax and cast in solid Sterling Silver, our craftsmen have shown great skill and respect for the master Swordsmith in creating a pendant depicting the Samurai 'odachi' Sword.

The fabulous hand carving of this piece of jewellery particularly on the handle shows great skill and care.

Weighing 7 grams, this sword measures 7.5cm long and will be suspended by a good quality Sterling Silver chain together with a 'Fighting Spirit' brand tag.

Samurai, originally the Chinese verb 'Saburau' described as 'those who serve in close attendance with nobility'

Odachi (large/great sword) or nodachi (field sword) was a type of traditionally made Japanese sword used by the Samurai class of fuedal Japan.

To qualify as an odachi, the sword must have a blade length of 35.8inches.

The Chinese equivalent of this type of sword in terms of weight and length is the 'miao dao' and the Western battlefield equivalent was the longsword or claymore.

This pendant is a numbered piece and will be supplied in presentation box and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
